RB Leipzig has secured their place in the Bundesliga title race with a hard-fought victory over Borussia Dortmund at the Red Bull Arena on Sunday evening.
The match was a closely contested affair as both teams fought tooth and nail to secure a win. In the first half, RB Leipzig took control and dominated possession, creating numerous chances but failing to convert them into goals.
However, in the second half, RB Leipzig's determination paid off as they found the back of the net through two excellent performances from their attacking trio - Timo Werner, Konrad Laimer, and Dayot Upamecano.
Werner scored a stunning goal after a brilliant run down the left wing, while Laimer made a sensational defensive save that kept the score level. Upamecano then scored his fourth goal of the season by scoring a beautiful header from a corner kick.
Dortmund were not to be denied though, as they found the back of the net themselves thanks to a well-taken effort from Max Kruse.
Despite the defeat, Borussia Dortmund remain in contention for the top spot in the league table, and will be looking to bounce back in the coming weeks.
Overall, it was another exciting game between two top-tier sides, and one that RB Leipzig fans can be proud of securing all three points.
