The La Liga standings have been updated with Real Madrid extending their lead at the top and Barcelona dropping to second place.
Real Madrid, currently sitting at the top of the table, has extended their lead over Barcelona to four points. The Spanish giants have won all six of their matches so far this season, while Barcelona have only managed two victories in their last seven games.
The match between the two teams on Saturday saw Real Madrid secure a comfortable 2-1 win against Atletico Madrid, with goals from Karim Benzema and Vinicius Junior helping them maintain their unbeaten record in the league. Meanwhile, Barcelona were unable to secure a victory against Valencia, losing 1-0 in what was a disappointing performance for Ernesto Valverde's side.
The result means that Real Madrid now sit top of the table with 19 points, while Barcelona are second with 17 points. Sevilla, who have won all three of their games so far, are third with 15 points, followed by Athletic Bilbao (14), Espanyol (13) and Malaga (12).
With only a few more games left in the season, it looks like Real Madrid will be able to continue their dominance in La Liga, while Barcelona will need to improve if they want to make up ground on their rivals.
