Everton's young forward Mason Holgate has been named as the club's player of the week after scoring his first goal for the team in their opening Premier League fixture against Crystal Palace.
The 22-year-old striker was handed the start by manager Marco Silva and he did not disappoint, netting a stunning strike from close range to open the scoring in the 14th minute.
It was a perfect start to what promises to be a productive campaign for Everton, who have made some significant signings this summer including Romelu Lukaku and Dominic Calvert-Lewin.
Calvert-Lewin is a highly-rated prospect and has already established himself as one of the most promising young forwards in English football.
He has scored 15 goals in just over 70 appearances for Everton since joining the club in January 2019, and his performance on Saturday will surely earn him more game time and recognition.
